My favorite agency right now. Despite getting large like toher agencies, they hae managed to stary friendly. Sure they make a decision I don't like now and then, but they aren't rought about it.Earnings are consitant, not wavering around like BigStockPhoto and StockXpert have been. |

Some experience... for the beginers

Recently I heard about stock photos and ways to earn some money through the photos you have. For about two months already I was trying to breakthrough any of those agencies, and turn out to be hard enough... and more important - strange. And not to think that I can't make photos - this is my personal site - http://slidenew.hit.bg/ However when I tryied to apply to iStock and Shutterstock I was immediately rejected. Obviously I was confused - especially of some of the reasons - "this is not stock orientated image" or "too much noise or artefacts" It turned out to be nearly impossible to upload images that are made on film - they have increadibly high standarts of noise, and the scanners colud hardly compete. Ok... but when I upload digital images - they were rejected on other reasons... "not a stock orientated image"... "we are looking for better quality of what we already have".... it turned out to be too subjective issue... what is sotck and what is not... what is good and what is bad... The only sotck sites I was admit at last was iStock and dreamstime I fist tryied with iStock because I thought it was bigger and powerfull site. For about one moth I was trying to upload images and they were rejected. They reject images with which I was admited to the site - and the opposite - they approved images that was rejected at first selection. This is absolutely unbelievable! And also you have only 15 images per week!!!! and then wait for at least one more week to be reviewed. At the end I finished with 1 - ONE - single image online.... and I was really confused. So I closed my account there and tryied dreamstime. There you have better selection, better and much easier upload and review. Everything is going faster. Now I reached 14 images online and get stuck again. For some reason they started to reject all new files and limited my account from 100 images per day to only 2. Now, 2 months later, I end up with account only at dreamstime, and with only 14 images online, and 0.00 income. You can see for yourself - http://www.dreamstime.com/Ioshertz_info I took some time of thinking and analysing the whole situation and I reached the obvious conclusion - all stock site are FULL! They have more images already than they could handle. They don't need any more contributers. And for those who already are selling there - it's ok. For all the others it is a mission impossible. They are making harder and harder the selection proccess, making the quality stantards high to absurd levels, and so on... And even if you succeed to breakthrough this absurd levels, the proccess and the time you will have to spend to reach your first dollar is.... increadible. And I think this is not quite fair - we both are lossing time. It would be fair enough to stop new people by just writting down - we are sorry we don't accept any more contributers. After some time they could start admiting new people again. But to lose time for both sides by rejecting good images is nonsense. I don't know if I am right but that's the conclusion I reached. Good luck to all |

My best selling agency

This is my first agency and still is the best selling one. The admins are very helpful and respectful to their contributors (which certainly cannot be said about all popular agencies like Shutterstock). Easy submitting. The review process is good. Great features for contributors to keep track of your sellings.

My #1 Stock Agency
|

Dreamstime is probably the best stock agency out there. Their uploading process is easy to handle (especially if you use the FTP Upload). They offer many nice features that make it easy to control your account and keep check of your images. Their review criteria are high but they can be met even by newbies (as compared to some other stock agencies like for instance iStockPhoto whose criteria are ridiculously high)).

My first experience and still one of the best

This was the first agency I started selling with a long time ago and it is still one of my favorites. They have a very advanced search engine (second only to iStockPhoto (maybe). Anyhow, the submission process is easy with their FTP Upload and other nice features. They switch between 100 and 50 uploads a day as a limit, which is a lot better than iStock.
